Michael Wayne Wilkerson

Michael Wayne Wilkerson, 72, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on November 13, 2025, at Mercy Health Lourdes Hospital.

Michael was born on January 28, 1953, in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Harry Wilkerson and Lucille Feagan Wilkerson. Michael's life was defined by his hard work, his love for the outdoors, and the joy he brought to those around him.

After graduating from Paducah Tilghman High School in 1971, Michael devoted many years to serving as a laborer with the Laborers' International Union of North America Local #1214 before his retirement. He was an active member of the Marshall County Elks Lodge #2707, where he cherished spending time with his close friends. A true outdoor enthusiast, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His passion for nature was evident even at home, as he could often be seen mowing the lawn, enhancing his landscaping, or nurturing his beloved vegetable garden, which he took great pride in. Additionally, Michael loved canning and sharing the fruits of his labor with friends and family.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Teena Morefield Wilkerson of Benton; one daughter, Beth Wilkerson of Murray; one brother, Tommy Wilkerson (Brenda) of Paducah; his four nieces, Jamie Cavitt (Benny), Gina Ross, Janice Morehead (JD), and Tommie Lynn Wilkerson; his nephew, Wesley Morefield (Kate); and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Dick; his brother, Kenneth Wayne Feagan; and two nephews, Jody Dick and Jim Dick.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY.

A graveside committal service will take place at New Hope Primitive Baptist Church immediately following the visitation.
