Paul Douglas Greenwood, 79, of Benton passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Center.
Paul was born on June 30, 1943, to his late parents, Paul Sr. and Pearl Lyles Greenwood Collins in Central City, Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked in a steel mill as a quality control supervisor upon his return home from service. Paul was an active member of the Church Grove United Methodist Church. He served on the church council and as an usher for sixteen years.
He was known as an excellent watermelon chooser and loved fried green tomatoes and perfected his recipe over the years. Paul enjoyed fishing and sports especially the Chicago Bears and was a huge Michael Jordan fan. Everyone loved what a good and kind man he was.
Paul is survived by his wife of 52 plus years, Mary Jane Greenwood; one daughter, Mary Hogan (Christopher) of Slaughters, Kentucky; two sons, James Greenwood (Christine) of Jamestown, Tennessee and David Greenwood of Benton, Kentucky; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Adaline Vaught, Lorene Lee and Eva Lois Hatler, and parents.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022 at Church Grove United Methodist Church beginning at 1 pm.
