Randle Griggs, 79, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at Henry County Health and Rehabilitation in Paris, Tennessee.

Randle was born in Draffenville, Kentucky, on December 18, 1946, to the late Woodrow Griggs and Evelyn Doughty Griggs. As a hardworking man, he was dedicated to his career and always remained committed to his faith and his family. He spent many years working as a carpenter for the Carpenters Local Union No. 357 out of Paducah before retiring, and he was a lifelong member of Briensburg Church of Christ.

Outside of work and church, Randle had many hobbies and interests he enjoyed doing. He loved spending time visiting with his friends at Four Little Pigs Restaurant, tending to his yard and his vegetable garden, and relaxing while watching a good Western show on TV, especially Gunsmoke. Sports were also a big part of Randle’s life. At a young age, he developed a passion for basketball while attending North Marshall High School. His love for the game never faded, and later in life, he became a supporter of Marshall County High School Basketball, and could always count on him sharing his coaching advice while watching any UK Basketball or St. Louis Cardinals games on TV. He was also an avid car enthusiast. He loved NASCAR and was also a big fan of the local stock car races; he enjoyed spending his Friday nights in the shop alongside Ronnie Faith’s Racing Team and Saturday nights on the sidelines at the races. Whether he was working on cars or making one of his frequent rounds to Walston’s Auto Repair, he loved being around others who shared the same love of cars.

Known for being a man of his word, he would always do anything he could to help others. Randle also had a very humorous personality and loved joking and being ornery with his friends and family, which eventually led him to becoming an adopted member of “The Pack” and Smith, alongside his daughter, Amanda. Regardless of whether they were hanging out, going out for dinner, or travelling together on a cruise, Randle was happy to be out creating memories that will be cherished for years to come.

Randle is survived by his daughter, Amanda Griggs of Benton; his sister-in-law, Nancy Griggs; his brother-in-law, Mike Carr (Denice); his nieces and nephews, David Griggs (Donna), Chris Griggs (Lori), Robin Crosby (Matt), Andy Carr (Amanda), and Tiffany Adair (Mitchell).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sue Carr Griggs; his brother, Wilson Ray Griggs; and his parents, Woodrow Griggs and Evelyn Doughty Griggs.
