Ron Richard, 82, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Calvert City, Kentucky.
Ron was born to the late George and Bessie Halbert Richard on February 1, 1944, in St. Louis, Missouri. He was a graduate of Freed-Hardeman University and accomplished a 20-year-long career as a minister and simultaneously worked in a manufacturing plant for the DANA Corporation in Paragould, Arkansas. As a child, Ron was always enamored with the idea of being a truck driver. After retiring from ministry, Ron was able to live out his childhood wander as a truck driver for Express Trucking and then Maverick Trucking. He was an Arkansas Razorbacks fan and a sportsman himself as an avid golfer. He was a member of Center Hill Church of Christ.
Ron is survived by his wife of 62 years, Judy Hawkins Richard of Benton, Kentucky; one daughter, April Lynn Richard also of Benton; one son, Jason Lee Richard (Cindy) of Bella Vista, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Korey Richard (Anne), Kelsey Dodd (Evan), Karsen Richard (Claire), and Vivian Richard; and one great-grandson, Parker Dodd.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Georgia Ruth Puleo; one brother, Larry Dale Richard; and his parents, George and Bessie Halbert Richard.
