Russell A. Novotny, Sr., 83, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on June 11, 2026, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Center in Paducah, Kentucky.
Russell was born in Lorain, Ohio, on January 23, 1943, to the late Joseph A. Novotny and Irma Sinko Novotny. Russell was a hard-working man who spent many years working as a heavy equipment mechanic before retiring. Known for being a jack of all trades, he could fix nearly anything and enjoyed working and tinkering with things in his free time. Russell also loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with all of his close friends out at the campground.
Russell is survived by his two daughters, Sherri Clark and Suzanne Baker; five sons, Russell Novotny, Jr., Don Novotny, Kevin Novotny, Andrew Novotny, and Mark Novotny; two sisters, Doris Byers and Jean Cantu; one brother, Edward Novotny; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews; and his close friend, Claudia Sevene.
He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Joseph R. Novotny, Charles Novotny, and Albert Novotny; and his parents, Joseph A. Novotny and Irma Sinko Novotny.
