Sandra Parkes Chumbler, 82, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Calvert City Convalescent Center.

Sandra was born in Paducah, Kentucky, to the late Harold and Ruth Thurston Parkes on April 21, 1943. She attended Draugon’s Business College and was a teller at Calvert City Bank. Sandra enjoyed listening to the oldies, with the Bee Gees being one of her favorites. She would also pass the time watching a good western. She was known to have a green thumb and loved her plants. That love also extended to her dogs and cat. Affectionately known as “Momsy,” she was always happy to spend time with her family, especially the grands and great grands.

Sandra is survived by one daughter, Laura Seay Belt (Kenny) of Calvert City, Kentucky; three sons, Jeff Seay (Jackie) of Benton, Kentucky, David R. Chumbler, and Doug Chumbler (Rhonda), both of New Albany, Indiana; two grandchildren, Denver Seay (Lizzy) and Tanner Wilson (Mariah); and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Chumbler; two sisters, Joyce Cannon and Leota “Pat” Poe; one brother, Sonny Parkes; and her parents, Harold and Ruth Thurston Parkes.

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.

A funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Lynn McWherter officiating. Burial following at Briensburg Cemetery.
