Sharon A. Smith, age 78, of Murray, Kentucky, formerly of Marshall County, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Anna Mae Owen Hospice House.
Sharon was born on December 26, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to the late George and Louise Owens Smith. She was a retired Colonel in the United States Army while also working with the military police. She was a member of Christian Fellowship Church and she loved watching hummingbirds and gardening with her favorite flower being the Rose of Sharon. She will be remembered as a proud veteran who was resourceful and tough all the while being gentle and loving to those she cared for.
Sharon is survived by her honorary daughter, Faith Bouland; one sister, Linda Kraus (Ernie) of Florida; one nephew, Kent McIntyre of California; two great-nephews, Baron and Logan McIntyre; three grandchildren; and her partner in crime, her Shih Tzu, Jak.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, George Louis Smith.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, Kentucky.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 1st, 2023 at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann. Burial will follow at Briensburg Cemetery.
