Teresa Cavitt Anderson, 71, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2026, at her place of residence.
Teresa was born to the late Charles Cavitt, Sr., and Eldred English Cavitt on February 3, 1955, in Paducah, Kentucky. Teresa was an exceptional cook, a skill that seamlessly translated into her role as the Cafeteria Manager at North Marshall Middle School, where she dedicated 20 years of service before retiring. In addition to her culinary talents, she was a skilled floral designer, effortlessly creating stunning and intricate arrangements. She also had a fondness for music from the 1960s and 1970s, which she greatly enjoyed. She cherished her family and was a dedicated Nana who delighted in every moment spent with her grandchildren. Teresa was a long-time member of Benton Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Hilari Powell (Zach) of Benton, Kentucky; two sons, Brian Anderson (Jerri) of Calloway County, Kentucky, and Benjamin Anderson of Benton; one sister, Belinda Quarrels (Larry) of Elberta, Alabama; two brothers, Dennis Cavitt (Marie) of Benton and Dwayne Cavitt (Barbara) of Hardin, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Lena Powell, Nathaniel Powell, Cheyanne Preston (Jarrod); and two great grandchildren, Walker and Brady.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Phillip Anderson; one brother, Charles Cavitt, Jr.; and her parents, Charles Cavitt, Sr., and Eldred English Cavitt.
Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann, 1003 Poplar Street, Benton, KY 42025.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 13, 2026, at the Life Celebration Center of Filbeck-Cann with Bro. Dennis Cavitt and Bro. Gary Bloomingburg officiating.
A private family burial will be held at Fairdealing Cemetery at a later date.
