Wanda Priscilla (Browning) Rudd, 77, of Marion, KY, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Princeton Nursing & Rehabilitation in the presence of her family. She was born November 25, 1944 in Lexington, KY, the younger child of Shellie and Alma Gladys Browning. She lived most of her childhood on a 60-acre farm on Wildcat Road in Symsonia, KY and, with her husband Richard, raised her own children there. Wanda was a 1962 graduate of Symsonia High School and a long-time member of Clarks River Baptist Church, followed by 28 years as a member of Marion Baptist. She also was a member of the Crooked Creek Homemaker’s Club with Crittenden County Cooperative Extension.
 
Wanda worked for a short time as a bookkeeper at Symsonia High School and later as a partner with Richard in the Rudd Honey Company. Together they served as volunteer missionaries for four years in the 1980s, first at Highland Lakes Baptist Center in Martinsville, IN where she served as head cook for year-round camps and retreats, followed by a year at Newcastle Baptist Church in Wyoming. 
 
Wanda was a loving and committed wife, mom, and grandmother who took great pride in making a comfortable and peaceful home for her family. She and Richard together created a homestead complete with multiple vegetable gardens, cattle, bees, and chickens. She was an avid baker, canner, seamstress, quilter, crafter, and decorator, and she especially loved creating family traditions around birthdays, holidays, and snow days.
 
She is preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Shellie, and is survived by her husband of 59 years, Richard, daughters Regina Merrick (Todd) of Marion and Andrea Peak (Ted) of Charlestown, IN, grandchildren Emily Merrick (Ben Jay) of Brooklyn, NY, Ellen Merrick of Evansville, IN, Adam Peak and Susanna Peak of Charlestown, as well as her brother Wayne Browning (Rosemary) of Symsonia. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins, sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
 
Funeral services for Wanda will be held at 1pm Thursday, July 14, 2022 at Clarks River Baptist Church, 10926 KY-131, Symsonia KY, with burial to follow in Clarks River Cemetery.
 
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm Wednesday, July 13 at Filbeck-Cann Funeral Home in Benton, KY. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to The Gideons International at sendtheword.org.
