Willard Junior Doughty, 82, of Calvert City, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.

Willard was born on August 27, 1944, in Calvert City, Kentucky, to the late Willard Franklin Doughty and Catherine Dodge Doughty. He was a hardworking man whose life was grounded in faith, family, and a love for the outdoors.

Willard graduated from North Marshall High School in 1962 and later attended Murray State University. After college, he spent several years working as a brick mason before joining GAF in 1969. He worked as a chemical operator for nearly 39 years before retiring in 2008. His faith remained a constant throughout his life. He was baptized at Lakeview Baptist Church and most recently attended Twin Lakes Worship Center.

Willard enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including golfing, bowling, fishing, and hunting quail and pheasants. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed not only playing sports but also coaching and cheering others on. Having played baseball in his younger years, he continued playing baseball and softball well beyond high school. He later found great joy in coaching his children and their teams. Even in recent years, Willard could often be found on the sidelines, proudly watching and cheering for his grandchildren as they participated in their favorite sports.

Above all, Willard was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, caring brother, and loyal friend. His love for his family, his faith, and his enjoyment of life’s simple pleasures will be remembered by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Kathy M. Doughty of Calvert City, Kentucky; one daughter, Shelia Doughty of Madisonville, Kentucky; two sons, Deon Doughty of Tempe, Arizona and Henry Doughty and wife, Keisha of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; one stepson, Keith Ballard of Frankfort, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Ashley Chiangrum, Tiffany Crass, Perry Crass, Justice Crass, Hudson Doughty, Miller Doughty, Arwen Doughty, and Lauren Ballard; seven great-grandchildren; his sister, Shirley Jean Kilby of Calvert City, Kentucky; his brother, Charlie Doughty and wife, Barbara of Calvert City, Kentucky; one sister-in-law, Diane Doughty; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Jimmie Doughty, Ronnie Doughty, and Johnny Doughty; and his parents, Willard Franklin Doughty and Catherine Dodge Doughty.
