Phillip Walter Campbell, 82 of Princeton, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at Salem Springs Lake Health & Rehabilitation. Born April 16, 1944, in Caldwell County, Phillip dedicated more than eight decades to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy marked by hard work, devotion, and care for all those around him.

Phillip’s early years in Caldwell County were the foundation of a life rich in values and commitment. In his younger years, he worked for many years as a skilled masonry laborer. Alongside his work in masonry, Phillip found joy in preparing barbecue. He was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church.

He was a cherished father to his daughters Sandra Kay Faughn and Tammy Lee, who remember him for his unwavering support, steady wisdom, and gentle presence. Phillip’s influence extended to his grandchildren—Phillip Runsvold, Colton Runsvold, Eric Faughn, and David Ray Faughn—who looked to him for guidance, stories of days gone by, and the pride that only a grandfather can bestow.

Phillip’s legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Peighton, Charlotte, Christian, and Carolyn Runsvold; Raylin, Jase, and Brynlee Faughn.  Among his surviving friends, Margaret Dean held a special place. "Sissy" was his faithful pet.

Phillip was reunited in spirit with his father, Dember A. Campbell, and mother, Novella Campbell; his brothers Wilburn “Tinker” Campbell, Harold Campbell, and Norman Cannon; his sisters Charlene Campbell and Christen Hudson; as well as his great-grandchild Keaton Runsvold.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Goodman Funeral Home, 1032 West Main St, Princeton, KY. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and again on Tuesday, July 7, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service, honoring the life and legacy of Phillip Walter Campbell, will follow at 11:00 a.m. on July 7 at Goodman Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Franklin officiating. Burial will take place at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, KY Hwy 902 E, Fredonia, KY.
