Brenda Joyce King, 84, of Paducah, passed away peacefully at home. She was born to Hazel (Jackson) Wyatt and William E. Wyatt in Paducah, Kentucky.
Brenda was married for nearly 67 years to the love of her life, Paul King. She was a devoted housewife, loving mother, and faithful servant of God whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She is survived by her children, Ricky King, Kimmy (Russell) Murphy, and Tammy (Tony) Kaufman.
She was a proud grandmother to Sabrina Goodenbour and Josh King; Will Peck and Chris Peck; and Brandon Kaufman, Stephanie (Kaufman) Pool, and Taylor Kaufman. She was also blessed with nine great-grandchildren.
Brenda, affectionately known as Momma or Memaw, had a passion for reading and was proud of her personal library of books and treasured family photographs displayed throughout her home. She was also well known for her love of Elvis Presley and his music. More than anything, however, Brenda loved her family. Her grandchildren were her greatest blessing and brought endless joy to her life. She will be lovingly remembered for pretending to eat mud pies made by little hands, breaking up swimming pool arguments, cooking popcorn on the stove, and teaching bedtime prayers.
Brenda faithfully celebrated the accomplishments of those she loved, proudly displaying their achievements on her refrigerator and throughout her home. Her life reflected the heart of a God-fearing, kind, and loving woman who is leaving behind a legacy of gratitude, love for family, and deep reverence for the Lord.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Hazel Wyatt; her brother, Donnie Wyatt; her sister, Martha Sue Dees; her grandson-in-law, Derrick Pool; and her daughter-in-law, Jeanie King.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 9, at 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah with Pastor Mickey Brown officiating.
There will be no visitation.
