A wonderful husband and father, Danney Wilson McGregor, took his last earthly breath and first Heavenly breath on December 1, 2025. Danney loved his church, Free Spirit Biker Church, and his church family. He looked forward to Sundays and congregating with his brothers and sisters in Christ. Danney was a family man, it was known to anyone who knew him, how much his family meant to him, especially “his sweetie”. Danney began his professional career at Illinois Central Gulf Railroad, becoming the youngest general foreman. He went on to work in management at Continental General Tire. Before retiring, he hauled fuel for Mid-West Terminal.
Danney loved his country and hunting. He took many trips out west hunting mule deer and elk. He enjoyed sitting atop the mountains, admiring the work of his Creator. Danney had a competitive nature, in hunting and as his son’s baseball coach. He loved to travel and enjoyed time on the open road with his beloved on their Harley-Davidson and in their Peterbilt. Danney was always up for a good conversation, whether about his faith, family or country.
Danney met his soul mate in a laundromat when her daughter begged him to buy her an Orange Crush and Peanut Butter crackers. Not long after that encounter, he introduced Limma to his young son and they were later married on May 13, 1978. After a few years, they were blessed with two more baby girls, and their family of four expanded to six.
Danney was preceded in death by his parents, Monroe and Maxine McGregor, and brothers Ralph and Billy Joe. Danney was also preceded in death by his son, Shannon, who shared his love for hunting.
Danney is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Limma Anette, who he loved and adored more than anything on this earth. Daughters Mendy (Michael) Goss of Heiskell, Tennessee, Jessi (Nikitas) Marias of Tucson, Arizona, Danelle (Brian) Sams of Paducah. Grandchildren Alex (Matt) Stevenson of Hopkinsville, Zachary (Lauren) Goss of Kingston, Tennessee, Eathan (Nayeli) Goss of Heiskell, Tennessee, Charley (Logan) McGregor of Benton, Matina and Dimitrios Marias of Tucson, Arizona, and Elise Hamblin of Paducah; and two great-grandsons, Kayson and Brooks.
