Mr. Barnes was an Owner of H.B. and R.B. Trucking and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Rosie Barnes of Paducah; one son, “Gene” Barnes and wife Jean Ann of Sharpe; one daughter-in-law, Michelle Barnes of Trenton, OH; two sisters, Evonia Hughes of Paducah, Ronnie (George) Hodges of Elva, KY; three half-brothers, Leslie Brookins, Steve Brookins, Keith Brookins all of Detroit, MI; one half-sister, Patricia Brookins of Detroit, MI; four grandchildren, Cody Seth Barnes, Taylor Suzanne Barnes, Savannah Roseann Barnes, Sierra Nicole Barnes; one great-granddaughter, Lennon Rose Sweat; two nieces, Rene Stamper, Shannon Fuller; one nephew, Dane Hodges.
He was preceded in death by his father, Hilton Milton Barnes; mother, Mildred (Baker) Brookins; stepmother, Katherine Barnes; son, Gregory Dale Barnes; sister, Wanda Stamper; brother-in-law, Bobby Stamper.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, July 24, 2025 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Dane Hodges officiating. Burial will follow at Wallace Cemetery in Symsonia.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at the funeral home.
