James Carl “Jimmy” Darnell, Jr., 72, of Paducah, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Baptist Health in Paducah.
Mr. Darnell was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Bartlett of Murray; two sons, Jeremy Darnell (April) and Mark Darnell (Ginger), both of Paducah; two daughters, Angel Johnson (Duane) of Massac County, IL, and April Seitz (Scott) of Paducah; three sisters, Patricia Crafton (Larry) of Benton, Diana Hodge (Michael) of Murray, and Cynthia Castro (Michael) of Portland, TX; eight grandchildren, Peyton Darnell, Emily Darnell, Tony Snow, Joseph Ashley, Travis Ashley, Sierra Ellis, Octavia Ashley, and Stephen Blair; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Carl Darnell, Sr.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Temple Baptist Church in Paducah with Bro. Brian Hodge officiating.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 noon to service time Saturday at the church.
