Mr. Childers was a Laborer for the Local Union # 1214, he was a member of a Hunting Club and he was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years, Karen Kay Childers of Paducah; three sons, Carl Matthew “Matt” Childers of Paris, TN, Josh Childers of Mayfield, Kamyn Dane Childers of Paducah; two stepsons, Cody Cherry of Ledbetter, Richard Mahmet of Clearwater, FL; two stepdaughters, Amanda Cherry of Draffenville, Kim Owens of Metropolis, IL; one sister, Debbie Beckman of Metropolis, IL; 8 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Jean (Garner) Krone; stepfather, L.D. Krone; one brother, Jerry Childers.
Graveside services will begin at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Fooks Cemetery in Possum Trot with Bro. Todd Hawkins officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah.
