Paducah native Lisa Gay McKinney Asaro, 69, peacefully entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on Saturday, August 22, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family and friends at Baptist Health Paducah.
Lisa was born on May 1, 1957, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Millie Wooldridge and William “Amos” McKinney. She was a unique, vibrant, and passionate Christian woman whose love for the Lord touched every part of her life. Lisa was passionate about the Lord’s work and faithfully served her church and community throughout her life. She was a good and faithful servant who never wavered in her devotion to God. Lisa was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church and was previously a member of The Vineyard of New Orleans.
At Oaklawn, she served as Director of Women of Joy, a women’s ministry, and as church Treasurer. During her years at The Vineyard, she and her beloved husband, Armando, worked diligently to spread the Good News. Together, they led Kingdom Living classes, and Lisa worked closely with Kingdom Kids. Serving others and sharing her faith were not simply things Lisa did—they were at the heart of who she was. Lisa worked as an Office Manager for 21 years.
Even after retiring, she continued working for another 10 years as a Convention Florist before returning to Paducah to be closer to her grandsons. Lisa worked hard at everything she did and never stopped until the job was done—and done right. She had a colorful spirit, a strong personality, and a heart that made room for everyone. She never met a stranger. Her friends became family, and her home was always an open door. She gave freely, loved deeply, and possessed a strength of spirit that will never be forgotten.
Lisa is survived by her mother, Millie Wooldridge; her sister, Ann Tice; her brother, Kerry McKinney; her daughters, Leah Asaro and Jenna Asaro Hall; her grandsons, Austin Burkeen (Gracie) and Ashton Burkeen; her great-grandson, Anthony Burkeen; six nephews; and two nieces.
She was preceded in death by her father, William “Amos” McKinney, and her beloved husband of 32 years, Armando Anthony Asaro.
Lisa’s greatest love was her Lord and Savior. Her faith remained steadfast, and she devoted her life to serving God, her family, her church, and those around her. Her giving heart, colorful spirit, strong faith, and unconditional love will live on in all who had the blessing of knowing her. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Armando, and has finally received the promise she spent her life believing in. She fought the good fight, she finished the race, she kept the faith. To know Lisa was to love her.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Baptist Church, 500 Oaks Rd, Paducah, Kentucky.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Vineyard Church of New Orleans, 4340 Sal Lentini Pkwy, New Orleans, Louisiana with entombment to immediately follow at St. Louis Cemetery No. 3, 3421 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, Louisiana. In honor of our mother’s favorite color, the family asks that you wear something blue.
