Odetta Hughes Long, 92, of Paducah passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Paducah.
Odetta was a homemaker and a member of Southland Baptist Temple in Paducah.
She is survived by two sons, Gene Hughes (Kay) of Sharpe and Dennis Hughes (Jennifer) of Benton; two daughters, Rita Lichtenberg (Richard) of Benton and Venita Wilson (Mike) of Paducah; five grandchildren, Jessica Hughes, Rachel Hughes, Steven Lichtenberg, Christopher Wilson, and Aaron Wilson; seven great grandchildren, Carson Lichtenberg, Ty Campbell, Seth Campbell, Jackson Lichtenberg, Maci Wilson, Barron Wilson, and Hadley Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Hughes, Jr.; parents, William and Hazel (Wood) Teitloff; one son, Michael Hughes; two sisters; and six brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Pastor Jonathan Goodman officiating. Burial will follow at Edmonds Cemetery in Smithland.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 am to service time Thursday at the funeral home.
