Richard Earl Newton

Richard Earl Newton, 81, of Paducah, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2026, at his residence.
 
Richard was a Journeyman Lineman for Jackson Purchase Energy. He was also a veteran of the US Army, having served during the Vietnam War, and a member of Safe Harbor Church in Hornbeak, TN.
 
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glenda Newton of Paducah; one son, Richard Newton II (Lisa) of Pinehurst, NC; one brother, Steve Newton (Kathy) of Paducah; three grandchildren, Joshua Newton, Caleb Newton (Ana), and Anna Marie Justice; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Rebecca Jean Newton; parents, Ray Allard and Oma Dell Newton; three brothers; and one sister.
 
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Pastor Chris Brady officiating. Burial with military rites will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah.
 
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
