Ronald Underwood passed away at his home on February 4, 2026, two days after his 89th birthday.
He was born in Cleveland, OH, but moved to Paducah, KY at a very young age. He was born to Albert Underwood, Sr. and Geneva Meunier Underwood.
Ronnie worked at Modine before going to ICGRR until their closing. He worked with his good friend, Bob Little, after that until he went to work at VMV railroad as a machinist and supervisor. He retired on his 65th birthday.
He enjoyed working on cars and restoring them, including his favorite one, a 1966 Thunderbird. He loved bike riding and visiting his friends along the way. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR racing.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Gwen Doom Underwood; son, Larry Underwood (Sherrie); daughter, Ronda Beeler (Randy); grandsons, Justin Underwood (Tiffany) and Nathan Lukas; granddaughters, Christin Inman (Kevin), Michelle Troupe (Shane), Misty Hopson (Ron), Jody Beeler, and Natalie Underwood; great grandsons, Preston Inman, Hewston Inman, Hardy Hopson, and Cooper Troupe; great granddaughters, Julianna Inman and Addison Troupe; stepdaughter, Kim French (Darren); stepson, Scott Wall; step grandsons, Devin French and C.J. Wall; step granddaughter, Haley French (Aaron); step great grandson, Caysen Ballard; and his first wife and friend, Evalena Duncan.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Bro. Jeff Russell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM to service time Saturday at the funeral home.
