Shanda Dawn Thompson

Shanda Thompson, at age 41, peacefully passed away on October 31st, 2022 after a battle with cancer for nearly 5 years. She was born February 21st, 1981 to parents Janice Hutchison and Edward Hutchison. She was the caring sister of Vicki Jones and brothers Joshua Noel and Robert Hutchison. At 24, she had her first child, Olivia Thompson. Two years later, she was blessed with son Jacob Thompson. Then, only a couple years later, she became the loving wife of Clifford Tolbert, and gained a third child in the process, CJ Tolbert. She loved all children, even those that weren’t directly hers. Her nieces and nephews held her in their hearts, including Hunter Noel, Dakota Rushing, and many others. She was a wonderful mom, sister, daughter, aunt, wife, and best friend. She was a best friend to many, including Becky Klopfenstein, Layce Nichols, Jenny Wyman, Leigha Nichols, and many others. She was loved and cherished by all. She spent her days with her family going camping, boating on the lake, making crafts, cooking, playing games, and watching movies. In December 2021, her breast cancer spread to her spine, and she became paralyzed from the waist down. But she didn’t let it put her down. She continued to smile through it all, even down to her last day. She passed surrounded by all the people she loved. Now, she will be reunited with her father in Heaven. May her soul rest in everlasting peace. 
 
Friends, family, and anyone else whose heart was touched by Shanda is invited to come to say their goodbyes at a memorial service will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Hughes Funeral Home in Paducah with Jason Medley officiating.
 
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
