Verda Mae (Powell) Champion, of Reidland, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2026, at her residence.
Verda was a homemaker and a member of Rosebower Baptist Church in Paducah. She was also the last charter member of Vanzora Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Randy Champion (Zita) of Hardin, KY; three grandchildren, Mark Champion (Alana), Chris Champion (Ashley), and Renea Champion; one great granddaughter; three great grandsons; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ernest Champion; parents, Brent and Carrie (Bohannon) Powell; one son, Gerald Champion; two brothers, Loman Powell and Dean Powell; and two infant sisters.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Mt. Kenton Cemetery in Paducah with Brent Powell officiating.
There will be no visitation.
