Frankie Ann Stubblefield, daughter of the late Frank Albert and Odessa Boaz Stubblefield, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025 at the age of 83. She attended Margaret Hall School for Girls in Versailles, Ky and Greenbrier Women’s College in Lewisburg, WV. She lived in Frankfort for 57 years but Murray, Kentucky, was always "home." She vacuumed her way out the door every morning to the Court of Appeals where she retired after 30 years of dedicated service. She was a member of First Christian Church (DOC) and a past member of the Frankfort Younger Women’s Club, where she met most of her friends when she moved to Frankfort in 1968.

Nothing made Frankie happier than telling you when you walked in the door that your shoes were tracking in dirt and to get out the vacuum cleaner. She will be missed dearly by her three extremely obedient children, Jennye (Gary) Grider of Frankfort, Ky., Rebecca (Kevin) Whitlock of Connersville, KY; and Susan (Donnie) Wainscott of Cape Coral, FL. In addition, she had four loving grandchildren, Andrew Grider (Emily) of Louisville, Ky., Clay Bennett (Ashley) of Connersville, Ky., Seth Boaz Whitlock (Jena), Connersville, Ky., and Emma Frank Whitlock (Chuck Huguely) of Georgetown, Ky., and six great-grandchildren, Karsyn Grace Bennett, Boston Clay Bennett, Emry Skye Crum, Jack Albert Grider, Henry Allen Grider, Ivey Leighann Whitlock, and Nevaeh Amiah Huguely.

She is also survived by her sister, Molly Pochciol of Murray, Ky.; nephew, Ashley Smock of Louisville, Ky.; and nieces Mary Smock of Nashville, TN., and Isis Pochciol of Dallas, TX.

She was preceded in death by her older sister, Jennye Sue Smock, and her brothers-in-law, Hunt Smock and Bill Pochciol.

She loved working in her yard and her flower garden and had no problem advising her neighbors on how to maintain their own yard. She was known for her unsolicited advice. If she offended you in the past, you were well loved.

She fought hard to keep her independence, even in her last week of being in her home, flipping upside down in her recliner on multiple occasions and calling and telling EMS “I only need a chair assist.”

Alex and Christine Burgen, Randy Yerges, Maddie Yerges, and Lucas King took care of her trash cans and storing the ladder she so desperately wanted to climb to change her filters and clean her gutters, and to Louisville Hosparus Health for their tireless care and support in her final days.

We could not be more blessed than having our family, Blade Ave. family, and friends who have surrounded us, prayed with us, and loved on us during this time. We were blessed to have “mom” and “Scooter” with us for so many years.

Per her wishes, she was cremated so her children can go to Hawaii.

In lieu of flowers, please hug your family, raise a glass, and write a check to Frankfort First Christian Church, Louisville Hosparus, or your favorite charity.

A graveside service will be at 1p.m., Monday, April 27, 2026, at Murray City Cemetery - Stubblefield Plot (Beale & Adams Street) with Dr. Chris Owens officiating.
