Gerald Wayne "GT" Turner

Mr. Gerald Wayne "GT" Turner, 75, of Murray, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

GT was born to the late Charles and Myrtle Turner on April 9, 1951 in Lovelaceville, TN.  He retired from Mattel, Inc. and was of Baptist faith.

He was a man whose wit could brighten any room.  Whether through a joke, or a handshake, he had a gift for making people feel welcome.  GT was a devoted lover of football and poured his heart in to coaching little league teams at both Murray and Calloway school districts.  He was also an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan.  Mr. Turner will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Butch Turner and Terry Turner, as well as, two sisters, Nancy Fleming and Sandra Jackson.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of almost 50 years, Mrs. Anna Turner of Murray; a son, Troy Wayne Turner of Murray; two grandchildren, Tamara Burch (Cameron) of Murray, Samantha Christopher of Murray and one great grandchild, Ethan Wayne Turner of Murray.

The funeral service honoring his life is set for 11 AM on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Imes Funeral Home & Crematory, with Sammy Cunningham officiating.  Burial will follow at Murray Memorial Gardens.

His family welcomes visitors on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 from 9  AM until 11 AM at the funeral home.
