James "Jim" Clendenen

Mr. James "Jim" Clendenen, 81, of Murray, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Gentiva Hospice in Paris, TN.

Mr. Clendenen was born to the late William and Elsie Davis Clendenen on June 6, 1942 in Lynch, KY.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.  Jim was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Rick Clendenen and Bill Clendenen; six sisters, Jean Barger, Shirley Dick, Nancy Maggard, Sondra Clendenen, Alice Clendenen and Brenda Rigney.

Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include his loving wife of 58 years, Mrs. Carolyn Clendenen of Murray; a son, James Gregory Clendenen of CA; a daughter, Angie Smith of Elizabethtown; two brothers, Butch Clendenen of Madisonville, Tom Clendenen (Carol) of Murray; a sister, Becky Highfield of Middlesboro, KY; grandchildren, LeAnn Lamb, Cody Smith, John Gregory, Shayla Gregory, Drew Gregory, Bryce Clendenen, McKenzie Clendenen, Maddie Clendenen and great grandchildren, Roman Lamb, Zeke Lamb, Grayson Smith.

The funeral service honoring the life of Mr. Jim Clendenen is set for 12 pm on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at Christian Fellowship Church, 1343 US Highway 68 E, Benton, KY 42025.  Richie Clendenen will officiate and burial with military honors will follow at Murray City Cemetery.

His family welcomes visitors from 10 am until 12 pm at Christian Fellowship Church.
