JoAnne Moore

JoAnne (Bankes) Moore was called home to be with the Lord in the early hours of June 15th, 2026.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on August 21st, 1954, to the late Dale and Madeline (Lawrence) Bankes, Joanne came to Murray in 1992 and Calloway County became home. A beloved wife and mother, she will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. JoAnne treasured the nickname “Band Mama” as an avid, long-time supporter of the CCHS band. And every year, she made sure to share her love of Christmas with the community through a display full of light and joy.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Larry Moore of Murray, KY; siblings Cheryl (Jason) Chadwick of Murray, KY & Charles (Amy) Bankes of Nashota, WI; son, Thomas (Lauren) Moore of Murray, KY; several nieces, nephews & great-grandchildren; and her cherished grandchildren Ruby Moore, Dexter Moore, Bryce Myers, Zienna Myers, Desiree Myers, and Brooke Myers.

In addition to her parents, JoAnne was preceded in death by her daughter, Anna Myers, and brother, Michael Bankes.

A private service will be held at Murray Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 19th at 1:00pm.
