Judy Lynn Crawford

Judy Lynn Crawford, 58, of Wingo, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, at Murray Hospital, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Born on May 29, 1968, Judy was the daughter of the late Mary Lizzie Crawford and Joseph Talton Crawford.

To know Judy was to love her. She had a quiet, gentle way about her, yet she was strong-willed and wonderfully stubborn when she needed to be. She was nurturing, kindhearted, and full of love for the people around her. Judy was the person you could turn to when you needed someone to listen. She always had a listening ear, a caring heart, and a way of making you feel like you mattered.

Judy was an artist in so many ways. She loved to sing and draw, finding beauty in the simple things around her. On a sunny day, you could often find Judy sitting in her lawn chair, soaking up the warmth of the sun. On a rainy day, she could be found curled up on the couch with the windows open, listening to the rain hitting the tin roof. She didn’t need much to be happy. Judy found joy in life’s quiet moments, and she had a way of making those simple moments beautiful.

Above all else, Judy loved her family and her people. Her love was steady, genuine, and unconditional. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will carry her love with them forever.

Judy is survived by her partner, Rebecca Harris; her special friend, Sharron Vaughn; her God children, Maria Watson, Jake Miller, April Riley, Chrissy Harris, Jessica Arnett, Tony Marshall, and Paul Harris; and her many grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She is survived by her siblings, Linda Sexton, Pamala Everidge, Rebecca Napier, Faye Martin, Janice Arnold, Donna Faughn, Beverly Sutton, Tim Sutton, Connie Vincent and Mary Lain, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

Among all of the relationships Judy held close, the bond she shared with her sister Mary was especially precious. Judy and Mary were inseparable. They talked every single day and cared for one another through every season of life, right up until the very end.

As the baby of ten children, Mary had always been watched over by her big sister Judy. Their family often reminisced about Judy being Mary’s “mother hen,” always looking out for her, keeping her safe, and making sure she was okay. Their relationship grew far beyond that of sisters—they became best friends, confidants, and one another’s safe place.

For Mary, losing Judy means losing not only her sister, but her best friend and a piece of her heart. Their love and the countless memories they shared will forever remain a part of their family.

Judy also held a special place in the hearts of her nieces and nephews. One niece remembers that no matter how much time or distance came between them, Judy never let a week go by without telling her that she loved her and how proud she was of her. Those words may have seemed simple, but they became a gift that will be carried for a lifetime.

Judy’s life was not defined by grand gestures. It was defined by the little ones: a song, a drawing, sunshine on her face, the sound of rain on a tin roof, a listening ear, a stubborn smile, and the simple words, “I love you.”

She gave love freely, cared deeply, and left an imprint on the lives of so many.

Judy Lynn Crawford was deeply loved, and she will be deeply missed. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the love she gave, the memories she created, and the lives she touched will carry her legacy forward.

Rest peacefully, Judy. You were loved more than words can say, and you will never be forgotten.
