Gladys White

It is with profound sadness and deep respect, our mother, Gladys White, age 99 of Calvert City, KY, passed away on May 17, 2026 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah. Born on February 12, 1927, to Harry and Mary (Schneeberger) Brindle in Chicago Heights, Illinois, Gladys lived a life full of grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion to her family.

Gladys was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be remembered for her warmth, her stories, her wicked sense of humor and acts of love that defined her life.

She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Harry and Mary Brindle, whose values and kindness she carried forward. Gladys shared a lifelong partnership with her devoted spouse, John F. White, to whom she was married for 70 years—a testament to their deep bond and unwavering support for each other. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Jack, Robert and Harry Brindle along with their spouses, Olive, Luella, and Lois Brindle, along with her grandson Ryan Lawniczak, all of whom held special places in her heart.

Gladys's surviving family includes her sons John White of Locke Port, Illinois; Richard White (Sandra) of Tinley Park, Illinois; and Michael White (Kathleen) of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Her daughter, Judith Mohney (Bruce) of Calvert City, KY. Gladys found great joy and pride in her grandchildren: Joseph White (Sarah), Jeff White (Jenny), Chris White (Jenny), and Caitlyn Bartolotta (Anthony). She also cherished her great-grandchildren Emily, Elizabeth, Andrew, Alex, Natalie, and Juniper White, who brought light and laughter to her later years.

The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by the staff at Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center, and Compassus Paducah Hospice, whose support was a comfort during her final days. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in loving memory of Ms. Gladys White to Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center at 1530 Lone Oak Rd.,Paducah, Kentucky 42003, or to Compassus Paducah Hospice at 225 Medical Center Drive, Suite 203, Paducah, KY 42001.
