Jerry Dean Collier, Jr., a devoted family man and respected member of his community, passed away peacefully at his home in Ledbetter, Kentucky on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the age of 67. Jerry was born on December 23, 1958, in Paducah, Kentucky, the son of Jerry Dean Collier, Sr. and the late Phyllis Ann Montgomery Gibson. He was a cherished member of the Ohio Valley Baptist Church in Ledbetter, where he found great satisfaction and purpose working in the church kitchen. His dedication to his church community was a testament to his kind and selfless nature.
Those who knew Jerry recall his enthusiasm for hunting, fishing, and woodworking—activities that brought him great fulfillment. A passionate sports fan, he avidly followed NASCAR, especially admiring his favorite drivers Dale Earnhardt and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. He was also a loyal supporter of University of Kentucky basketball, finding enjoyment in the camaraderie and excitement of the game.
Above all, Jerry treasured his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Shirley Collier of Ledbetter, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons; their daughter, Kristie Maxfield of Ledbetter; his father, Jerry Collier (Brenda) of Joppa, Illinois; four brothers—Terry Lynn Collier (Dianne) of Paducah, Raymond Lee Gipson (Lindsey) of Tupelo, Mississippi, Terry Wayne Kittle of Paducah, and Ronnie Ramage (Francie) of Smithland, Kentucky; two sisters—Debra Raby (Kenny) of Ledbetter and Sherri Johnson of Joppa, Illinois; his beloved grandchildren, Savana Redwine (Austin) and Aaron Maxfield; and his precious great-grandson, Preston Redwine. Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Ann Gipson.
Friends and loved ones are invited to honor Jerry’s memory at Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home in Paducah. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., followed immediately by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with ??? officiating. Burial will follow at Leeper Cemetery in Smithland, Kentucky.
Jerry's memory will be cherished by all who knew him, and his legacy will continue through the many lives he touched with his kindness and generosity.
