Rev. Gordon "Gordy"  Wilkey, age 86 of Paducah died Thursday, February 8, 2024 at Baptist Health with his family and friends surrounding his bedside.  He was born the son of the late Markey Wilkey, and the late Lavern Edmonds Wilkey.  He was a missionary to Brazil with his wife Margaret "Amy" Wilkey for 55 years.  Rev. Wilkey was a member of  Southland Baptist Temple.  He graduated from Reidland High School and went on to graduate from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri.  Following graduation from Bible College, Rev. Wilkey and his wife moved their family to Brazil where he started 14 works, and also started a Bible Institute where they trained national pastors.  His dedication to serve God in missions allowed him to serve for many decades.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at Southland Baptist Temple with Pastor Homer Fletcher officiating.  Burial will follow in Edmonds Cemetery in Livingston County.  Visitation will be Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Keeling & Goodman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Amy Wilkey of Paducah; his sons: Keith Wilkey (Leia) of Hickory, Kenneth Wilkey (Terri) of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Karl Wilkey (Lisa) of Clinton, and Klinton Wilkey (Sheila) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his daughters: Kristi Wilkey (Gretchen Roof) of Paducah, and Karri Koebel (Charlie) of Draffenville; his brothers: Jerry Wilkey (Judy) of Paducah, Dennis Wilkey (Janie) of Metropolis, Illinois, and Tommy Wilkey (Theresa) of Paducah; his sisters: Dorothy "Dottie" Burkett of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Joyce Ramirez (louis) of Paducah; his twelve grandchildren, and his five great grandchildren.
