James "Allen" Chandler, 62, of Paducah passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at River Haven Nursing & Rehab with his family by his side.
Allen formerly worked as a chief engineer on a towboat. He enjoyed all types of racing, especially drag racing. In his spare time he enjoyed working on cars.
Surviving is his mother, Dorothy Herbert of Paducah; one sister, Penny (Glenn) Knight of Gilbertsville; four aunts and uncles, Stacey Seaton of Paducah and Elva Jean Vallandingham of Smithland, Denny (Rhonda) Chandler of Smithland, KY, Benny (Denise) Chandler of Smithland; one niece, Lauren (Josh) Seay of Kuttawa; and one nephew, Mitch (Alicia) Knight of Gilbertsville; one great-niece, Oakleigh Seay of Kuttawa; and three great-nephews, Josiah Knight, Chandler Knight both of Gilbertsville and Drake Seay of Kuttawa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Chandler; grandparents, Carl and Katie Chandler and Inez and James Seaton; one uncle, Franklin Chandler.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
