Brett Lawrence Durham, 64, born September 1, 1961, in Dayton Ohio, passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Baptist Health Paducah, Kentucky.

Brett and his beloved wife Vickie shared a partnership spanning 39 years, nearly 36 of those years in marriage. Their life together was centered around raising their four children: Christopher (Ingrid) Ferrall, Misty (Dustin) Daulton, Amber Fulgham, and Brandy Volkman. Their family grew to include 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, all of whom Brett cherished deeply. Brett’s grandchildren will forever cherish memories of the "coffee song" or the unique "baby gymnastics" that only their grandpa could perform with them. He was known for making sure to be at the hospital for the birth of every grandchild and great-grandchild, always striving to be the first to hold the newest arrival.

Brett and Vickie experienced a profound loss of their grandson and namesake in 2020, Brett Nicholas Ferrall, who passed away at the tender age of 10.

Brett is survived by his three siblings: Karen (Dolf) Weir, Tami (Greg) Suprenant, and Matthew Durham and Stepmother Nancy Durham. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Durham, and his mother, B. Irene Durham.

Brett enlisted in the Air Force in the early 1980s. He later re-enlisted in the Air Force Reserve in 1987 to serve as a flight engineer and actively fought in the Desert Storm War. While continuing his service in the reserves, Brett began a new civilian career at Northrop Grumman. For five years, Brett expertly managed to juggle the demands of raising his four children, serving in the Air Force Reserve, and working at Northrop Grumman. He then concluded his reserve service to focus solely on his career with Northrop Grumman. He worked there for 27 years as a B-2 Test Director before retiring and moving to Benton, Kentucky.

Brett loved to travel extensively with his wife Vickie throughout their marriage, visiting places like Scotland, Ireland, England, France, and taking nearly every kind of cruise imaginable. In the summertime, he was drawn to the water; if there was a raft nearby, you would surely find him floating peacefully. Brett possessed a rare charisma; it was often said that no one met him without growing to love him. He was the kindest, most loving, and genuine person one could ever encounter. Always open to conversation when someone needed a listening ear, he offered the best advice. He will be remembered fondly for his rock-solid reliability and boundless compassion. His genuine nature and vibrant, youthful energy were a gift to us all. We will cherish the memory of a truly well-centered man who enriched every life he touched, and he will never be forgotten.

He is loved by all and missed by many.

Memorial services will be held on January 24th 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at SpringHill Suites, 1512 N. 12th St. Murray, Kentucky 42071.
