Carolyn Sue Heine, 78, of Metropolis, IL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, September 12, 2025, at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah, KY with her family by her side.
Sue was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and prayer warrior. She was a faithful member of Waldo Baptist Church.
Surviving is her husband, Steve Heine of Metropolis; two children, Kent Heine of Metropolis and Lori (Troy) Deasel of Paducah; five grandchildren, Brandon (Jen) Heine of Brookport, Nick Deasel of Paducah, Mason (Shelby Jo) Heine of Paducah, Lauren Deasel of Metropolis, Logan Deasel of Fargo, ND; three great-grandchildren, Evan Heine of Brookport, Zander Deasel and Piper Deasel both of Metropolis; two nieces, Angela Herring and Kathy Herring both of Metropolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Hettie Herring; one brother, Charles “Buddy” (Brenda) Herring.
Funeral services will be at 11:00am on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Waldo Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Russell, Rev. Paul Washer and Rev. Nate Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Metropolis Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family from 5:00pm to 8:00pm on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Waldo Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Nick Deasel, Mason Heine, Logan Deasel, Evan Heine, Dr. Kyle Heine, AJ Heine, and AC Heine.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all. Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:28-31
The family would like to thank Dr. Danny Butler, Dr. James Long, and the nurses of Mercy-Health Lourdes Hospice for the wonderful compassionate care they provided Sue and her family during this illness.
