Everett R. Smith Jr., 67, of Smithland passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at his home with is family by his side.
Everett was retired from American Commercial Barge Line as a chief engineer and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting, and fishing. He was a member of the NRA. Everett was a 1976 graduate of Livingston Central High School.
Surviving is his son, Duell Smith of Smithland; one brother, Jeff (Lynn) Smith of Smithland; three grandchildren; Curtis Smith, Madison Morrison, Terryn Smith; one uncle, Louis (Janet) Hale; one aunt, Betty Lloyd; one nephew, Tyrell Smith; and several cousins
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everitt R. Smith Sr. and Joyce Dukes; and one son, Curtis Resolved Smith; one brother, Greg Smith.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Andrew Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Ferguson Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
