Eddie (Gene) Adams, 93, of Paducah passed away on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Gene was retired from Signet Federal Credit Union after 28 years of service. He was viewed by his credit union peers as a pioneer in the credit union movement as a leader in local, state and national capacity, and served on the board of the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). As an active member of Christ Community Church, he served as an Honorary Elder. Gene served in the US Army during the Korean War. His greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included traveling, fishing, hunting, and woodworking, crafting furniture, bowls, and wooden toys for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gene was always the first one to help others. Even as a senior, he volunteered for Martha's Vineyard.
Surviving is his wife of 73 years, Patricia Ann Adams; his four children, Donald Adams (Cindy), Diane Strong (Zack), and Dale Adams (Cindy), Denise Phillips (Charlie); nine grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one nephew, Jimmy Adams (Dana); and one niece, Janna McCracken (David).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie William Adams and Lois Peeler Adams; and brother Rev. Thomas Adams.
Funeral services will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Zack Strong and Rev. Tim Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
