Grace Sims

Grace R. Sims, 93, of Paducah passed into the arms of Jesus, on July 20th 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 19, 1932 in Tennessee, the second child of six children to the late Lonnie S. Ridley and late Ruth Winberry Ridley. She retired from the Florshein Shoe Factory, formerly of Paducah. Grace enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes and purses. She enjoyed gardening and cooking (especially making candy). She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church of Paducah. Grace was proceeded in death by her parents Lonnie and Ruth Ridley, her husband Walter Leon Sims of Paducah, KY, two brothers; Omer Ridley and Billy Joe Ridley of Paducah, KY, and two sisters; Betsy Ridley of Paducah, KY, and Sue Gaines of Memphis, TN, and one granddaughter, Stacey Artis of Paducah. Grace is survived by her sons; Ed (Belinda) Artis and John (Carol) Artis of Paducah and one daughter in law, Debbie (Steve) Sparrow of Lawrenceburg, KY. Grandchildren; Jennifer Artis of Lawrenceburg, KY; David (Karen) Artis of Shelbyville, KY; William Allen Artis of Benton, KY, Coy (Jodi) Artis of Paducah, KY; Ashley Artis of Hopkinsville, KY; Lindsey Hite of Paducah, KY; Anthony Artis of Murray, KY Debbie Travis of Mayfield, KY, John David (Elisabeth) Artis of Nashville, TN, Jackie (Eric) Foster of Lawrenceburg, KY, Shawna Dews of Frankfort, KY, Timmy (Ginny) Artis of Galatia, IL, Jeremy Artis of Hobbs, NM and very many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and longtime close friend Jim Sharpton Friends may visit with the family from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Saturday July 26, 2025 at Lindsey Funeral Home.
