James Larry Calhoun Sr.

James Larry Calhoun Sr, age 79, of Paducah, KY passed away on Monday August 24, 2026, at River Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Paducah Kentucky. Mr. Calhoun was born March 6, 1947, in Paducah to Roberta and O. Hershel Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun was owner of Coming Attractions Hot Rod Shop and co- owner of Unlimited Motorsports. Worked and helped pioneer Dupont in their street rod program, Retired from Illinois Central Railroad. Mr. Calhoun had been a car enthusiast since he was a kid, and it runs in the family. From building hot rods, racing cars, award winning shows and magazine cars over the years. Mr. Calhoun is survived by one son; James Calhoun Jr. of Paducah, KY, former daughter-in-law Marianne Carter of Paducah, Ky two grandchildren; Britani Calhoun of Paducah, KY and Hayden Calhoun of Paducah, KY, along with nieces and nephews. Kristin Calhoun (Jeff Brooks), Mark Calhoun (Karla Calhoun) Honey Holmes (Scott Holmes), Sherri Meeks (Kenneth Meeks), Robert Calhoun (Valerie Nardo), and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one daughter; Lisa Lage, one sister; Linda Riley, two brothers; Bobby Calhoun and Orville Calhoun. Mr. Calhoun wanted a private service so there will be no visitation or funeral service.
