James Moore “Jimmy” Wooldridge, 68, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on May 9, 2026, and is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, whom he loved and proudly served. Jimmy was born on March 2, 1958, in Paducah, Kentucky, to Dr. Robert M. Wooldridge and Mary Ann Wooldridge Horton, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Robert M. “Bobby” Wooldridge, and is lovingly remembered by Bobby’s children, Mary Catherine Patty and Drew Wooldridge, who were very special to Jimmy. Jimmy was an easygoing, genuine man who loved people and embraced life as it came. He was comfortable being exactly who he was and had a natural warmth about him and could strike up a conversation with anyone. He believed strongly in loving others well and made that belief known through both his words and his actions. A devout Christian, Jimmy attended Oaks Church of God in Paducah. His faith was central to who he was, and he was never shy about sharing his love for the Lord. He lived with confidence in his beliefs and found great peace in his relationship with Christ. Sports were one of Jimmy’s great joys. A true sports fanatic, he passionately supported the Kentucky Wildcats, the Kansas City Chiefs, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Watching games, talking sports, and cheering for his teams were among his favorite pastimes. Jimmy’s greatest love, however, was his family. He was married for forty-three wonderful years to the love of his life, Sherry Bone Wooldridge. He was a proud and devoted father to four daughters: Melissa Cothran (Bradley), Amanda Belwood (Ryan), Lauren Lampley (Brett), and Ashley Haertzen. He was a proud grandfather to Max and Ella Cothran, Carlisle and Millie Belwood, Owen Lampley, and Vivian Haertzen, each of whom brought him great happiness. Jimmy found his best days in life’s simple pleasures — sitting in the front yard, listening to 70s music, enjoying the moment, and loving his three beloved dachshunds, Winnie, Olivia, and Bella. These were the times when he was most content, soaking in life and the people around him. Jimmy leaves behind a legacy of love, strong faith, kindness, and authenticity. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and forever remembered for the joy, faith, and love he shared so freely.
