Lois Ann Watson

Lois Ann Watson, of Smithland, KY passed away February 25, 2026, at her home in Smithland, KY, born in Hartford,CT. Mom is a woman of great faith, strength, and endurance. She is filled with love and encouragement, and she always wore a smile that radiated pure joy. She lived life to the fullest for her family and friends, never letting anything hold her back from being the social butterfly she was. She found happiness in the simple things—shopping, gathering with loved ones, and especially cooking, which was her true passion. Her favorite color was yellow, and her favorite flower, the yellow rose – a reflection of the warmth and light she brought into everyone’s lives. Mom lit up any space with her presence, her laughter, and her beautiful smile. She is forever in our hearts and deeply loved. Her strength lives on through her family as she rests peacefully with Jesus. Lois survives by five children: Diane Marie Palm, Lisa Ann Slater (Kenneth Isaac), Brenda Lee Petito (Rodney Dean Hamilton), James Michael Watson (Jamie), Scott Edward Watson (Michele LoVaglio) and one son Bill Leiper, Two sisters: Ann- Marie Lawton, Shelia Parsons, thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, four dogs... Chewy, Dudley, Precious, Honey. Lois is Preceded in death by her parents, husband: Fay Roy Watson, three sisters: Kathleen Cote, Betty Turner, Nancy Braun, one brother: William Turner.
