Randell Dawson

Randell Milton Dawson, 92, of Paducah passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Randell was born in Paducah on October 13, 1933 to William Burgess and Lola Dawson. He was a dedicated member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. Randell served in the National Guard before he worked at GAF in Calvert City for many years. He also has sold insurance and ultimately became a realtor for 40 years with Century 21, where he also served as the President of the Board of Realtors. Randell was passionate about his hometown. He volunteered as a Paducah Ambassador for numerous years, was a former member of Reidland's Lions Club and spent time helping at Baptist Health Paducah in various capacities. He was committed to his faith by regularly attending Church, studying scripture and always striving to spread God's word to anyone and everyone. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing, boating and dove hunting. Randell was a dependable and caring man who loved his family deeply. He was actively involved in his children's, grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's lives. He is survived by one daughter, Teresa Dawson Grubbs of Paducah; one son, Randy Dawson (Wendy) of St. George, Utah; two grandchildren, Leah Taylor of Paducah and Hunter Grubbs (Jordan) of Nashville, TN.; three great-grandchildren, Ace Taylor, Brooks Taylor and Fisher Grubbs; and one niece, Kathy Littlemyer of Marshall County. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Clark (Harold); one niece, Kim Burke and his parents. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Lindsey Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. Todd Hawkins officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
