Roger Leo Johnson, 80, of Paducah passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Roger was retired from The Paducah Sun Newspaper where he served 38 years as an Advertising Executive. He was a member of Gospel Mission Worship Center. He enjoyed duck/goose hunting and fishing. He hand painted duck calls, decoys, and gourds where he would travel to events to show off his work. He enjoyed spending time at the lake with his friends and family.
Roger was a special man that was highly respected by his family, friends, colleagues, and all who knew him. He never met a stranger and was truly one of the best men you would ever meet. He touched many lives through his kindness, loyalty and love for the Lord.
Surviving are his four children, Beverly (Dave) Ovanek, Christine (Joe) Filipek, Joey Johnson, Nicole Johnson; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Nally, Kyle Ovanek, Matthew Filipek, Nick Filipek, Andrew Filipek, Ethan Johnson, Logan Johnson; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sherry Cummings.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Yvonne "Carllett" Johnson; his parents, Acie and Thelma Johnson; three siblings, Carol Seitz, Henry "Sonny" Johnson, Ray Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 12:00pm on Friday, January 9, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Calhoun officiating. Cremation will follow.
Friends may visit the family from 11:00am to service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
