Walter "Shade Tree" Shade Jr., 72, of Paducah passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Baptist Health Paducah.
Walter was retired from TVT/Marathon where he served as a first mate in the tow boat industry for over thirty years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, going to the senior center, and spending time with his family. He loved old cars and going to show shows. He was a member of New Life Baptist Church. Chico his dog was his baby.
Surviving are his three children, Eric (Mindy) Shade of Paducah, Tina Shade Mitchell of Hopkinsville, Ryan (Hailey) Shade of Gilbertsville; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia "Trish" Shade; his parents, Walter Fritz and Betty Jean Henson; and two brothers.
A joint memorial service for Walter and Patricia Shade will be held at 5:00pm on Friday, April 24, 2026, at Lindsey Funeral Home.
Friends may visit the family from 3:00pm till service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
