Donna Kay Griffin York, 81, of Paducah, Kentucky passed away at 4:20 a.m. Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Clinton Place in Clinton, Kentucky. She was born on July 4, 1942 in Paducah to the late Capt. Rolland W. Griffin and Lawanda Alline Roberts Griffin. Donna retired from the Crounse Corporation after 35 years of service. While working at Crounse Corporation she was honored with having a towboat named after her, The Donna York. She was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church where she was a member of The Lighthouse Sunday School Class. Donna was a member of the Paxton Park Ladies Golf Association. Donna enjoyed traveling, loved animals and was an advocate for animal rights.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Keeling Bishop of Paducah, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Elisse Whitney Sharpe of Grand Junction, Colorado and Max Stefan Bishop and wife, Rachel of Louisville, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Claire Louise Bishop and Isobel Rose Bishop both of Louisville, Kentucky; one nephew, two nieces.
Donna was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Lynn Risinger; a sister, Patricia Scott and her parents.
Memorial services will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Private family burial will take place at the Pell Cemetery in Brookport, IL. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until service time of 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
