Ada Mofield, 88, of Arlington, Kentucky, passed away at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Saturday, October 11, 2025. Ada was born on March 17, 1937, to the late Elsie Ferguson Massey and Search Massey Sr. She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church.
Ada was known for her hard-working nature, having spent many dedicated years working at the Deena Lamp Factory in Arlington. She later brought her strong work ethic to Ingram Barge Company, where she retired as a cook, a role that she loved and took great pride in.
From her earliest days, Ada was the embodiment of a caring homemaker, whose love for her family was fierce and boundless. Her children were the center of her world, and she dedicated her life to providing them with a nurturing and loving home. In her spare time, she could often be found cheering on her favorite sports teams, the St. Louis Cardinals and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball, or watching the game show channel. Always with a good book or a word search puzzle in her hands.
Ada's life was a testament to the virtues of hard work, devotion to family, and faith, principles that she lived out daily. Her physical presence will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ada is survived by her two daughters, Patricia (James) Suits, of Arlington, Kentucky, and Marcia (Jamie) Holder, of Gilbertsville, Kentucky; one grandchild, Christy (Rodney) Hobbs, of Benton, Kentucky; two great-grandchildren, Blake (Kristen) Hobbs, of Mayfield, Kentucky, and Jacob (Katie) Hobbs, of Bozeman, Montana; and three great-great grandchildren, Jase Hobbs, Hunter Hobbs, and Ezra Hobbs.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, David Mofield; one sister, Verbena Maghee; and four brothers, J.W. Massey, Search Massey Jr., Roy Massey, and Joe Massey.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home in Arlington, with Bro. David Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Burkley Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Arlington.
