Jo Hall, 69, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026.
Jo was born on September 26, 1956, in Hopkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Edwin Morrow Hamby and Elizabeth Ann Sholar Hamby. She was especially proud of her father, Ed, who served as the first permanent postmaster at Fort Campbell.
Being the mother of Laura, Mary Beth, and Molly was the greatest honor of Jo’s life. She had a gift for making life feel special, celebrating birthdays and holidays beautifully, enjoying shopping trips with her daughters, and proudly telling anyone who would listen about them. She delighted in giving them a childhood full of treasured memories and took even greater pride in watching them grow into strong, independent women, and two of them into wonderful mothers.
In 2017, Jo met Kenney, the love of her life. Their years together were filled with laughter, companionship, and joy. With Kenney came three sons, wonderful daughters-in-law, and four grandsons, all of whom Jo welcomed wholeheartedly into her family. After raising three daughters, she often laughed, “I don’t know what I would have done with boys.”
Jo had a wonderful appreciation for art in all its forms. She treasured collecting pieces she loved and special creations made by her grandchildren. She had many of them custom framed, filling the walls of her home. Jo had a deep appreciation for a beautiful notecard and a true gift for the written word. She was also someone who found great meaning in taking care of the people she loved.
Jo was a devoted volunteer at her daughters’ school, St. Mary, where her talent for planning successful auctions brought the community together and led to many cherished lifelong friendships. She loved animals and never went a day without a beloved dog by her side. She also enjoyed watching the deer in her yard, happily luring them inside the city limits with bags of corn.
Jo was deeply loved. The love, laughter, and treasured memories she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of those who loved her always.
Jo is survived by her husband, Kenney Hall of Paducah; three daughters, Laura Ann Bray of Paducah, Mary Beth Bray Ohl and husband, Mike, of Mentor, Ohio, and Molly Bray of Nashville, Tennessee; three sons, Daniel Hall and wife, Abby, of Kathleen, Georgia, Bradley Hall and wife, Cassie, of Benton, Kentucky, and William Scott Hall of Paducah; and six grandchildren. She is also survived by George Bray, the father of her daughters.
Along with her parents, Jo was preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Hamby.
A celebration of Jo’s life will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the service at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations in Jo’s honor to the Paducah Community Kitchen, 1237 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Paducah, KY 42001, or Ronald McDonald House Global, 26345 Network Place, Chicago, IL 60673-1263.
