Barbara Tilley Moss, born October 12, 1942, and a longtime resident of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of November 4, 2026, at Baptist Easley Hospital in South Carolina. She is now free from pain and celebrating her arrival in heaven, reunited with her beloved husband, Joe.
Known affectionately as Barbie, she was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Paducah, Kentucky, where she served alongside Joe. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, knitting, and reading, but especially treasured time with her grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren. She moved to Easley, South Carolina, to be closer to her family, while always holding her lifelong Paducah friends close to her heart. Wherever she went, Barbie made friends and built a sense of community.
Barbie’s faith shaped the way she loved and encouraged others. She freely shared the love she knew from the Lord and was a constant source of knowledge, wisdom, and comfort. Her quick wit and sense of humor could bring a smile to anyone’s face. For her grandchildren, she was a trusted sounding board, always ready to listen and offer thoughtful and meaningful advice. Every morning, she sent them encouraging words, scripture, and prayers—a daily expression of love that will continue to guide them as they carry on her legacy. Barbie had a heart of gold. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and all who knew her until they meet again.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Karen Ward; her son, Keith Moss; four grandchildren, Allie Chamberlain and husband Spencer, Olivia Ward and husband Marcus Russell, Jacob Moss, and Joshua Moss; two great-grandchildren, Goldie Russell and Sullivan Russell; and her honorary brother, Gary Davis.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Moss; her parents, Herman Franklin Tilley and Margaret “Pod” Tilley; and her brother, Roger Franklin Tilley.
A service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, November 16, 2026, in the chapel at The Foothills Retirement Community, 205 Bud Nalley Drive, Easley, South Carolina, with her lifelong pastor, Rev. Jamie Broome, officiating.
A memorial service will also be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, with Rev. Katie McKown officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Paducah. Friends may begin to gather at 10:30 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2026, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah, 120 Memorial Drive, Paducah, KY 42001.
