Barbara Whitlow, age 92, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at 12:58 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2026, at her home. Barbara was born in Mayfield, Kentucky, on February 4, 1934, to William Andrew Carter and Ovie Bazzell Carter. Barbara was a 1951 graduate of Mayfield High School. She attended and graduated from Draughon’s Business College in Paducah. Barbara retired from the McCracken County Clerk's office, where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Lone Oak Woman’s Club for many years, serving on various committees and working at the Christmas wrapping booth at the mall.
Barbara was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church, which later became Heartland Church. Barbara supported her late husband, Bill, in his many years of teaching Sunday School, and was on the communion preparation Committee. Barbara enjoyed the many years that the Clerk's office employees gathered for their monthly luncheon.
Survivors include one son, Jeff Whitlow of Paducah; one granddaughter, Morgan Whitlow of Pensacola, Florida.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Bill Whitlow, in September 2025.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2026, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah, with Dr. Nathan Joyce officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, August 31, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time of 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
