Barry D. Webster passed away at his residence on Thursday, February 5, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky. Barry was born in a small logging town in California to the late Bryce and Alice Webster.
Barry spent much of his younger years working in the logging industry and even led a logging crew during the eruption of Mount St. Helens in 1980, an event that destroyed all of their equipment but left behind stories he enjoyed telling for years. He proudly served three years in the United States Army during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged. Later, Barry worked as a contractor with the army base at North Wind, continuing a career built on hard work and dependability.
Retirement never slowed Barry down. In fact, the last twelve years of his life were spent pursuing one of his greatest passions — gold mining — which, to his delight, occasionally rewarded him with real gold and always rewarded him with great stories.
Barry loved traveling, especially alongside his wife of sixteen years, Marcia. From each adventure, he brought home mementos and memories, and he never met a story he couldn’t tell or a topic he didn’t seem to know something about. His family fondly referred to him as the “trivia of life,” and they often joked that their best weather forecast came straight from Barry, their own personal meteorologist.
Above all, Barry will be remembered as a generous and kind man who was always willing to lend a hand, share a laugh, or help someone in need. His steady presence, humor, and big heart will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Webster of Paducah, Kentucky; his son, Nicholas (Amy) Cook of Paducah, Kentucky; his daughters, Melissa Davis of Paducah, Kentucky, Holly of South Dakota, and Barrie of Las Vegas, Nevada; and four grandsons who brought him great joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Rick Webster.
Per the family's wishes, there will be no service at this time. Milner & Orr Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Paducah are in charge of the arrangements.
