Kathrine Elizabeth “Betsy” Threet, 94, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky.
Born on February 28, 1932, in Mt. Vernon, Indiana. Betsy lived a life marked by hard work, compassion, and entrepreneurial spirit. She earned a four-year degree in nursing, where she immediately served as a neurological nurse, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Betsy dedicated her career to caring for others, a profession that reflected her generous and nurturing nature.
In addition to her nursing career, Betsy was a successful business owner. She owned and operated a Dippin’ Dots business and was the proprietor of a large antique shop, The Legacy Collection, where she combined her love of history, antiques, and community. Through her businesses, she built lasting friendships and touched the lives of many people.
Betsy will be remembered for her determination, independence, her devotion to her family, and her beautiful smile. She took great pride in her accomplishments and found joy in meeting people through her businesses and sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm with others.
Betsy is survived by three children, Ann Threet, Sally Palmer, and John David Threet; her special friends, The Wilson-Hart, and The Anderson family; and her dearest friend, Phyllis Bardwell.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Don Roy Threet, with whom she shared 25 years of marriage.
