Betty Alexander McKinney, 77, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away at Ray and Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center on Friday, August 21, 2026, in Paducah, Kentucky.
She was born on August 22, 1949, in Graves County, Kentucky, and lived a life marked by kindness, creativity, faith, and steady devotion to the people and interests she held dear.
Betty attended school and earned some college credit, reflecting her appreciation for learning and personal growth. She went on to build a long and dedicated career as a Payroll Clerk for CSI Inc., where she served for 34 years.
Outside of work, Betty was a deeply creative person who found joy in many artistic pursuits. She loved to crochet, cross-stitch, paint, and draw. Her creativity was not only a pastime but also a reflection of her personality.
Betty also had a lifelong interest in genealogy, and she enjoyed researching family histories and learning about the lives of those who came before her. She also cherished the present through her love and admiration for her Kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids.
A devoted fan of University of Kentucky basketball, Betty enjoyed following the Wildcats and sharing in the excitement of the game.
Betty was of the Baptist faith, and her beliefs were an important part of her life. Her faith provided comfort, guidance, and strength, and it shaped the way she lived and treated others.
Betty is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Glenn McKinney of Paducah, Kentucky; a daughter, Patsy Robinson (Matthew) of Kevil, Kentucky; and a son, Adam Robinson (Kara) of Lake hill, Texas; Three sisters, Nancy Gooch of Wynn, Arkansas, Judith McClain (Drema Miller) of West Paducah, Kentucky, and Marilyn Sollenberger (Tim) of Kevil, Kentucky; a brother, James Lynn Alexander (Cara) of Richmond, Kentucky; four grandchildren, Jacob Robinson (Brooke), Samantha Robinson, Jasmine West (Gavin), and Kaitlyn Royalty; and three great-grandchildren, Avery Gibbs, Ford Gibbs, and Jace Robinson; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Eldrie Alexander and Martha Wilkins McClain; a daughter, Kim McKinney Royalty; and her brother, William David Alexander.
